[301] αὐτῶν after “σφι”, as Od. 11.75, “μοι .. ἀνδρὸς δυστήνοιο”. The construction is common with participles, e.g. 14.26, Od. 6.157. See H. G. § 243. 3 d, and for the dat. ἄλλοισι with the pass. verb, H. G. § 143. 5. The variant “δαμεῖεν” looks like the prudery of a more fastidious age.
