[344] The name Λειώκριτον is Odyssean, see Od. 2.242, Od. 22.294. Nauck points out that it should be “Ληόκριτον” from “ληός” = “λεώς”, an Ionic form which has not elsewhere ousted the old “λαός”. Cf. “ληὸν ἀθρήσας” Hipponax fr. 88.
