[568] ἀλοία, she beat the ground with her hands, to call the attention of the gods below. So Hera appealing to “Γαῖα” and the “Τιτῆνες, χειρὶ καταπρηνεῖ ἔλασε χθόνα”, and “ἵμασε χθόνα χειρὶ παχείηι”, Hymn. Apoll. 333, 340.
